69 Kids Taught to Preserve Sea in Camping Under The Sea

Around 69 kids who participate in the Camping Under The Sea event at the Taman Impian Ancol that has been held since July 6-7 are taught to preserve the sea. One of them is by spreading shells on the coast of Ancol.

On this second day, they spread green seashells which are natural filter feeders from marine waters that can improve water quality

Ancol Corporate Communications Head, Rika Lestari said that the event combines recreational, educational and conservation activities.

"On this second day, they spread green seashells which are natural filter feeders from marine waters that can improve water quality," he expressed, Sunday (7/7). 

It is expected to have a positive impact on improving water quality, as well as biodiversity and the number of biota in the Ancol Sea.

"It will bring a positive impact as green mussels are hard substrates for laying eggs of various types of biota, can be a shelter structure of various types of small fish and food sources of various types of fish," she explained. 

One of participants, Ayunda (9), admitted that this is a pleasant first experience.

"This is a special experience for me. We are taught to learn independently without accompanied by a parent, and adds many friends and knowledge," she said.
